SRK to shop for Dempo SC?
Dempo secretary-general Armando Colaco told Friday that Shah Rukh, who owns Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders, has shown interest in picking up stakes within the club and talks are at an initial stage.
"Shah Rukh has shown interest in Dempo. Talks are still happening and it'll take a while to finalise the deal. The modalities are yet to be worked out," said Colaco.
Asked if Shah Rukh may also be the emblem ambassador for the Goan club, Colaco said: "WE'RE still figuring out easy methods to use Shah Rukh's image to spice up the club. Hopefully we will be able to have an excellent deal."
Dempo, India's most successful club in recent times, has an annual budget of around Rs.12 crore.
Shah Rukh's involvement would definitely be a boon for the club. Dempo have won the I-league thrice because it was launched in 2007-08. They have also won the erstwhile National Football League twice in 2004-05 and 2006-07.
Dempo also are the one Indian club to make the semi-finals of the AFC Cup, Asia's second tier club competition, in 2008.
Over the past couple of years, plenty of celebrities have shown interest in promoting Indian football. In 2009, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) roped in Salman Khan, Shah Rukh's arch-rival, as brand ambassador.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her industrialist husband Raj Kundra, who're co-owners of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, had also shown interest in playing an active role in Indian football.
Among other IPL owners, Vijay Mallya, who owns Royal Challengers Bangalore, is the executive sponsor of Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

Deepika has signed a two-year contract with the corporate and can be seen in a multimedia campaign for it.
She was zeroed in on because of her ambitious and hardworking attitude, which has helped her tread a successful Bollywood career starting from "Om Shanti Om" in 2007 to her last release "Desi Boyz", released earlier this year.
"Deepika comes across as a go-getter who has made it on her own, is confident of her choices and works hard to succeed in what she desires from life," Pooja Jain, executive director, Luxor Group, said in a statement.
"She rightly represents the youth, who're passionate and seek excellence of their endeavours. Luxor range of writing instruments is exported to 110 countries worldwide thus we also wanted a face that may be internationally recognised," added Jain.
The ad campaign for Pilot might be created by filmmaker R. Balakrishnan's Lowe Lintas.
"Deepika is a confident person and represents the youth that's aware and determined. The ad campaign for Pilot will keep this synchronicity in mind and can have a tender feel," Balakrishnan, popularly referred to as R. Balki, said.

How King Khan stole the show at a media interaction
Media folk were amused to peer SRK showcasing two cups — one, the trophy that contained chocolates and the other, a bowl with pungent smelling mint. A chocolate was meant as a brownie point for a good question and a mint for a negative question.
The one that received a variety of mints asked SRK if he would ever wish to do a TV show like Aamir.
To make certain everyone heard his voice, the star, at one point, even got his personal microphone system out.
Before the click conference started, wife Gauri Khan came to the lobby area where event was going to be held. However the moment she saw the assembled crowd, she did a 360-degree turn and fled.
He even had sweet words for fellow team owners like Preity Zinta and Gayatri Reddy who cheer their respective teams even after a loss, unlike the star himself.
Contrary to his bedraggled look in the course of the IPL season, the actor sported his usual clean and suave appearance. SRK joked, “Since I were travelling such a lot during the last few days, I EVENTUALLY decided to take a proper bath. In fact, I WILL even imagine a TV channel saying aloud, ‘Shah Rukh teen din se nahaye nahin’!”

After Shimit Amin who made Ab Tak Chappan for Ram Gopal Varma after which migrated to Yashraj Films to make the successful Chak De and the dud Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year, another Ram Gopal Varma protégé Atul Sabharwal is ready to make a big-budgeted film for Yashraj.
The film titled Aurangzeb will feature Arjun Kapoor in a double role. But the really interesting a part of the project is the debutant director’s slanted association with Arjun Kapoor.
Sabharwal wrote Arjun’s uncle Anil Kapoor’s murder thriller My Wife’s Murder which Ram Gopal Varma produced.
Says a source, “That’s when Arjun, then a child, vaguely got to grasp Atul. To be now directed by him just shows that it’s small world . And the arena of films is even smaller. Atul desired to direct his own film for Ram Gopal Varma.
But Ramu somehow never got around to provide him a possibility. Atul came to Yashraj where he directed a very good television series Powder. That’s when Aditya Chopra spotted the prospective in Atul and asked him to write down a screenplay. ”
Confirming Atul Sabharwal to be the director of his second film Arjun Kapoor says, “Yes I'M doing the film. ”
As for the film that Arjun will do for his father Boney Kapoor the main points are still being worked out. It could possibly be the only after Aurangzeb.

Irrfan, Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill are currently shooting within the interiors of Gujarat for the sequel of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film.
As a number of the scenes are being shot outdoors in Baria, over an hour’s drive from Vadodara, the rising mercury (as much as 45 degrees) is making filming difficult with many parched throats. To overcome the heat, Mahie began having the local chaas. She got hooked onto it and now her co-stars in addition to several production folk have followed suit!
Says a unit source, “We call it the chaas diet. It’s so hot that we don’t feel like eating anything. Mahie first began sipping glasses of all of it. her meals include huge quantity of the yoghurt drink more then food. She even made her co-stars Irrfan and Jimmy take a fancy to it.”
Adds the source, “Chaas contains more water than lassi and has the butterfat removed, so it's the perfect thirst quencher. Not a single day passes without endless glasses of chaas for us.”
Says Mahie, “As we're shooting outdoors, the warmth is unbearable. I'M on a thanda chhas diet and it is our saving grace over here to overcome the heat.”

‘Even if I fail, I’ll still be your Grand Slam champ’
While Leander Paes is having his dream run at the present time on the subject of his first passion — tennis, his Bollywood ambitions have taken a backseat nowadays.
Currently preparing for the rigorous tennis season prior to him — with the Olympics, the Wimbledon and the French Open, the sportsperson tells HitList that he's going to come back to filming again only towards the tip of the month.
“I was shooting till February, ” says Leander, after we caught up with him, “But it’s on hold as a result of my tennis commitments. Shooting will commence again from October-November onwards, ” he explains.
Leander goes directly to add that he’s blessed to be working with individuals who understand the demands of his dual profession. “They know that after I work for them, I'M willing to work 24 hour shifts, ” he added.
Quashing rumours that Rajdhani Express hasn’t found any distributor, Leander said, “The shooting’s not even complete.”
While being termed certainly one of India’s best tennis players, some people have expressed their opinion on how it’s foolhardy on Paes’ part to go for films. But Paes doesn’t rise to the bait.
“Everything is a risk. Crossing the street in India is the largest risk these days!” he laughed, “But I don’t live my life in fear.”
And if he fails? “Then I’m still your Grand Slam champion, ” he said, “In any business, you achieve many and fail in various. I’ve played many matches that were amazing and some that were really rubbish. So hopefully, I’ll make some great films. I’m sure there can be a couple of I’ll fail in. Mr Bachchan gave 19 flops to start with of his career!”

How Emraan managed to create a distinct segment for himself in B-town
The actor who has always been confident about his collection of roles has no regrets and loves his profession. The sweetheart boy talks to CS about playing characters, his films and creating an identity for himself:
Playing multiple characters We have reached some extent in Bollywood where actors must be able to play characters now. And that i think, even other actors will agree with me. For instance, my character in an upcoming film is very shabby than the sooner glamorous ones.
I like it that way. What’s the purpose in playing yourself over and over? People become bored with you someday. In fact, even I AM GETTING tired of taking a look at the similar ‘me’. Filmi chakkar Films are my world. I AM GETTING to play different characters and get to live them too. Some characters fascinate me so much. If I weren’t an actor, I MIGHT have probably never seen such a lot of other kinds of characters. So I'M always able to play unusual roles.
Film is a fascinating amalgamation of scripts, dialogues, songs, technicalities and far more. The financial risk makes the industry very shaky, yet addictive.
Once in it, it's difficult to get out. The nail-biting anxiety as a result of fate of the film every Friday is worth one million bucks.
Two sides of the coin Being an actor may be part of filmmaking. I'VE always loved films, so desirous to be part of it was a compulsion than an option for me. But like everything else, it has a flip side too.
Sometimes, I crave to stroll at the streets with the similar carefree attitude as I did ten years ago. It’s strange that an actor works so hard for fame and when he earns it, he yearns for anonymity.
It doesn’t end there. The very next moment, he also fears the anonymity and lack of identity. It's bizarre!
Being different Goals are important, however the journey is more exciting. And with every accomplishment, there are new goals. So far, I'VE always wanted to maintain my identity intact and yet be different. My collection of roles was different because the beginning.
I have never followed a suite formula. My choices were critised however the very criticism has become my strength now. And the type of cinema that was a risk a decade ago, has become main stream cinema on account of my association with it.

While Ajay was shooting for "Son of Sardaar", Sachin was present round the corner for an ad shoot Wednesday.
They crossed paths during a break and had a hearty chat about cricket in addition to sports in general.
Later Tendulkar took to Twitter to share his experience, and wrote: "Met Ajay Devgn at Mehboob studio. An actor with amazing talent and talent. He was brilliant for years now. Keep going strong Ajay."
Ajay, who enjoyed the brief meeting, also tweeted: "Just got back from a perfect day at work and to top all of it met Sachin Tendulkar at the sets besides. What a pleasure!"

Race for a release?
At a time when most Bollywood biggies avoid an instantaneous clash on the box office, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham’s two new films — Race 2 and Shootout at Wadala, are prepared to release within every week of one another next January.
Date drama Incidentally, John and Anil star in both films. In Sanjay Gupta’s encounter flick set within the late 1970’s and early ’80s, Anil plays Isaque Bhagwan while John plays the don Manya Surve.
The other is Abbas-Mustan’s racy sequel to their 2008 thriller, also featuring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. While the previous is scheduled to release on January 18, the latter is slotted on January 25, to take advantage of the Republic Day weekend.
The big overlap A well-placed industry source just about both the actors tells HitList, “They’re aware of maintaining a substantial gap between two films.
Moreover, they’re cautious to bypass the promotion of 1 overlapping with that of another. Meanwhile, Abbas-Mustan’s film releasing every week after Sanjay’s makes things look a tough for them.”
Also, both being quite big films and that too the early birds of the brand new year, there generally is a possibility of them affecting each other’s business. Besides, neither producer can be willing to re-schedule their respective release.
No choice? As he explains, “Already, Ekta Kapoor has deferred the discharge of her Sanjay Gupta directed film by over a month. Initially, it was scheduled to open in cinemas on December 7.
But with Sanjay’s police case (vis-à-vis the invite for the launch of the film) delaying the shoot and Aamir Khan’s suspense thriller postponed to November 30 has left Ekta and not using a choice but to push their film’s release to mid-January next year.”
At the similar time, the Abbas-Mustan thriller too was delayed, reportedly as a result of Saif prioritising his home-production, Agent Vinod. As our source elaborates, “Initially, producer Ramesh Taurani was keen to release it in end November. Now he has decided to release the film before the Republic Day weekend.” What is still seen is which producer will blink first. The race is on!
