As a child, Soha used to be informed to play the instrument, but didn't love it much. But she has resumed her piano classes and Sharmila is greater than happy.
"Many, a few years down the line, I remembered that my mom had this dream and this vision of her ageing and me playing the piano for her and the home being filled with music. So, I BELIEVED it's better late than never. I'VE started learning find out how to play the piano," Soha, 33, told reporters Tuesday on the launch of P&G's campaign, Thanks Mom.
She added: "WAY TO P&G, they've helped me start the adventure to fulfil this dream of hers (my mom)."
Soha also revealed how she used to bunk her music classes when she was young.
"When I USED TO BE very young, her (my mom's) dream was that I should discover ways to play the piano. I USED TO BE very naughty. I did enroll at the Delhi School of Music where I went for some classes...I would bunk those classes and go and play tennis, which I enjoyed more," said the 33-year-old.
"We had a piano that we had rented. It was within the corridor and someday my mother will need to have returned it because I wasn't practising. I DO NOT BELIEVE I REALIZED for approximately three months that it had gone," added the actress who's busy shooting for Deepa Mehta's "Winds of Change".
Sharmila was also present on the event and said that she was surprised when she came upon that Soha is learning to play the instrument.
"It's quite nice, really. I always wanted her to play the piano because I THINK that it's one of these lovely thing to know, music. The sound of piano always appealed to me, it's one in all my favourite instruments. It was a type of surprise (that Soha is learning the Piano again)," said the 65-year-old.
"She may be very conscious and she or he could be very hardworking. I DO NOT know whether she is a natural or not, I DO NOT desire a concert pianist really. I WOULD LIKE someone to share things and feel free together," added the veteran actress.
Neha Dhupia too came along with her mother for the P&G event.
