Bappa Lahiri and Taneesha Verma begin their wedding festivities with Bappi Lahiri's music
Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa who weds Taneesha Verma, daughter of action coordinator Mahendra Verma, have planned an elaborate sangeet ceremony on April 15.
As reported ‘Wedding bells’ (Hitlist, March 5) the Lahiris are having a large fat Bollywood wedding as both the families are related to the industry. The marriage ceremony is on April 16 followed by a reception on April 18.
Says Bappa, “Music is the mainstay of our lives so obviously the sangeet ceremony will dominate with dad and his tunes.”
The who’s who of Bollywood especially from the music industry was invited and several other of them may also be performing. “All the musicians who've been with my dad will perform live.
There are a whole lot of surprise items being publish by members of the family and friends. There may be also an audio-visual the Lahiris and their music so as to add to the fun,” adds Bappa.
Here’s what’s in store on the sangeet....
THE FAMILY: Bappa and his bride will dance to his father’s Ooh La La track.
Bappi Lahiri and his wife Chitrani in addition to Bappa’s sister Rema and her hubby Govind Bansal together with their kid Swastik will also dance to Bappi’s tracks. Taneesha’s father Mahender Verma and uncle Tinnu Verma along side their other brothers will do a skit together.
THE MUSIC MAKERS: The special guests Daler Mehndi,Vishal-Shekhar, Alka Yagnik and Mika will perform.
THE FRIENDS: Shraddha Kapoor (Shakti Kapoor’s daughter) who's Taneesha’s best pal gets jiggy to a medley of tracks which come with Bebo O Bebo and Teri Or.
While among Bappa’s friends Mahakshay (Mimoh) Chakraborthy will do a re-enactment of his father Mithun’s I'M A Disco Dancer track. Sophie Chowdhry is doing a Chikni Chameli act. Riya and Raima Sen and several other others are doing surprise acts.
