Emraan Hashmi open to item songs

Emraan Hashmi open to item songs
Emraan Hashmi says he's all able to do an item number, nevertheless it needs to be different from the remainder.

"The conventional item numbers are very boring. I DO NOT just like the way they're presented. I WILL BE ABLE TO do something different, " he said, adding jokingly that if his "Shanghai" director Dibakar Banerjee will cast him as an item boy, he would take it up.

His recent release "Shanghai" saw him playing a light-hearted role for the primary time and Emraan says the film had changed people's perception about him.

"'Shanghai' de-constructed perception that individuals had about me. A BRAND NEW Emraan Hashmi was showcased. After this whatever role I play, it may be as unpredictable as this. I NEED to surprise the audience, " he told reporters Tuesday at PVR Juhu here.

He was seen in bold films akin to "Murder 2" and "Jannat 2", but Emraan describes "Shanghai" as his "boldest film with regards to concept".

"'Shanghai' may be very different. Now we have made a movie which breaks convention, " he said admitting that the film had a slow start Friday, "however the jump we got, the response I got on SMS and everything is a win-win situation for all the team. This film needs your support in order that more films like 'Shanghai' can also be made. "

Known as Bollywood's serial kisser, Emraan doesn't need to be trapped in any particular role.

"I wish to be an actor who pitches his films to everyone. We all know there's a divided audience. Some actors are safe and cater to 1 particular set of audience. But I TRULY respect Dibakar for creating a film like 'Shanghai'.

He took the chance of constructing something different. The praise that I'VE got for Jogi Parmar, I'VE infrequently heard such praise in my career. After 'Shanghai', I'D need to do more films like this, " he said.

Talking about individuals who haven't liked the film, Emraan said: "YOU CANNOT please everyone. You'll have individuals who love your film and detractors to boot. On this case, they haven't understood the film.... "
