The coy bride wearing a Tarun Tahiliani special followed Ram Charan who walked in a flower decked canopy to specially designed hall to accompaniment of the normal nadaswaram.
The high profile wedding was graced by the who's who the politics and tinsel town. From Amitabh Bachchan, Superstar Rajnikanth, Sridevi and almost all the Tollywood in attendance.
The world of business rubbed shoulder with the political elite which was led by Andhra Pradesh Governor, ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu and TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao among others.
To mention a couple of from the sector of industrial we spotted Shivinder Singh of Fortis, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Biocon and a number of others. Telugu news channels were running a live feed of the VIP arrivals and all over the marriage.
The three hour wedding conducted in traditional Telugu style with priests chanting mantras and the bride and the groom smearing the Jeelakarra Bellam and Madhuparkam followed by the opposite ceremonies including the grand finale – the tying of the mangalsutra and Saptapadi, the seven steps that the bride and groom took across the fire.
The high profile wedding which began four days ago with ceremonies at Domakonda Fort was interspersed with sangeet, parties and tradition. Ram Charan’s father and mega star Chiranjeevi will host a reception today evening followed by tomorrow’s morning reception by Ram Charan for his fans.
Hyderabad should look ahead to some time another wedding with this scale of pomp and pageantry.
