Where is Mr India? Shahid takes potshots at Anil Kapoor

Where is Mr India? Shahid takes potshots at Anil Kapoor
Shahid makes sure that Anil Kapoor's absence on the IIFA Awards in Singapore doesn't go unnoticed

Despite an extended association with the IIFA awards event or even after promoting it only a few months ago at the side of Bipasha Basu, for some reason, Anil Kapoor was nowhere to be seen in Singapore. However, Shahid Kapoor wasn’t in a rush to allow us to forget it.

He kept pointing at a chair with Anil’s name pasted on it and taking potshots calling him Mr India during his Vicky Donor spoof.

The digs at Anil then continued throughout the evening. In truth Anil’s brother Boney Kapoor and sister-in-law Sridevi who were sitting just within the adjacent chairs looked discernibly awkward while the audience wondered why Sasha was at it.

Perhaps Shahid thought it was payback time for Mausam. Should you jog your memory, you'll recall that Anil’s daughter Sonam Kapoor had starred in Mausam with Sasha in his dad Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut. Buzz was that Sonam had acted difficult throughout the shoot of the film and ended in a delay within the project which faced several obstacles.

Everyone was left wondering why Shahid was going overboard with the barrage of missives aimed toward Anil. Anil who's shooting in Turkey for Abbas-Mustan’s film remained unavailable for comment.

Chunky takes it sportingly

Chunky Pandey got a taste of his own medicine at IIFA. First Boman Irani complained about having to share a room with Chunky!

Then Ayushmann Khurana and Shahid Kapoor took constant digs at him. But Chunky took it like a sport. “It’s high time people started making jokes about me, especially considering the collection of digs I'VE made in my entire life.

All these jokes are from my very own friends so I take them as compliments! But in future I'M deliberating starting a royalty programme. Similar to people need to pay royalty to make use of a song, they'll wish to start paying me for all Chunky Panday jokes made at award functions now, ” he laughs.
