"It's a family film as a way to make you and your children pop out with a grin in your face," he added.
It was reportedly actor Akshay Kumar, the lead actor of the film, who insisted on keeping the film short for the kids' liking.
Kunder helmed his first film "Jaan-E-Mann" in 2006. It did average business on the box office.
"Joker", which also features Sonakshi Sinha, will release Aug 31.
