Model-turned-actress Esha Gupta embraces an all-new search for Prakash Jha's next 'Chakravyuh'

After creating a ‘glamorous’ debut in Jannat 2, she's going to also don an analogous look in Vikram Bhatt’s next, opposite Emraan Hashmi. However, in Prakash Jha’s next film, Esha will go completely de-glam. Her character is that of a cop.

Esha not just took part in numerous workshops to perfect her new look and role, she also performed some stunts from a helicopter.

Jha points out, “Esha did around 10 workshops with us to get into the outside of her character. She learnt the elemental nuances of having the correct body language, look and dialect as she plays a cop from Bhopal.”

The director adds, “She did an excellent stunt sequence on a helicopter where the door was open and there has been a large number of firing. It was quite a daredevil act, which we shot in a jungle near Pachmarhi.”

How Tiger`s deglam Katrina was transformed into archetypal Yash Chopra heroine

How Tiger`s deglam Katrina was transformed into archetypal Yash Chopra heroine
Director Kabir Khan has insisted on a no make-up search for Katrina in her forthcoming film, Ek Tha Tiger

It was poet-thinker Harindanath Chattopadhyay who said, “It’s very difficult to be simple.” By that logic, Katrina’s most difficult role is in Ek Tha Tiger.

Director Kabir Khan, who had earlier insisted on a no-make-up search for Katrina within the film New York, has gone even further and insisted that she wear clothes from her own wardrobe for this film. Katrina’s not complaining either.

A friend of the actor says, “Katrina loves dressing in casuals. She hates getting dolled up and wearing makeup. She is all smiles throughout the Ek Tha Tiger shoots.”

Interestingly, it’s the other for Katrina in her forthcoming Yashraj film opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Says a source just about the actress, “She is dressed like an ordinary city girl in Ek Tha Tiger. It’s the ‘real’ her, the way in which she is off screen. She even dug into her own wardrobe for this part. For Yashji’s film, however, Katrina have been given a sublime appearance, so even a ‘casual’ song within the park is being worked upon in great detail.”

Apparently Yash Chopra is adamant on transforming her into the archetypal Yash Chopra heroine.

In fact, Gulzar has penned a paean to Katrina’s beauty and the song have been composed by AR Rahman. Says our source, “It’s Gulzar saab’s most romantic song since Jab Bhi Yeh Dil Udaas Hota Hai. And it can’t be sung to Katrina in torn jeans and a floppy top.”

Apparently Yashji have been telling friends that the affection song Shah Rukh sings to Katrina is essentially the most romantic number he has shot since Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein.

A source on the subject of both the projects says, “The difference between Katrina’s look in Ek Tha Tiger and Yashji’s film is the variation between the lady round the corner and the lady round the corner to probably the most romantic guy.”

Katrina’s role in Ek Tha Tiger is minimalist in every sense — her character doesn’t speak much, either.

Sohail Khan`s car crushes woman to death

Sohail Khan`s car crushes woman to death
Bollywood actor and producer Sohail Khan’s car crushed a 70-year-old woman to death in Mumbai on Sunday night.

Khan however was not within the SUV and it was being driven by his driver Dhananjaya Pimpale, who was arrested later.

The accident happened at around 11 pm on Sunday night near the St Andrews Church in Bandra when the auto was returning to Khan’s residence.

The Land Cruiser was negotiating a turn when it hit the woman, a witness said, while another alleged that the SUV didn't stop following the accident.

Another eyewitness, who said he and a constable rushed the victim to the hospital, accused authorities on the Bhabha Hospital of not getting to her or around half-an-hour.

The woman, identified as Chandan Bala, was later declared dead on the hospital.

Police have charged 46-year-old Pimpale negligent driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder and he's expected to be produced in court on Monday.

Preliminary investigations showed the driving force had not been drinking, but a medical report on his blood and urine samples is awaited, the police said.

They added that although Sohail Khan was not within the car, his statement might be recorded because the car belongs to him.

In 2002, Khan’s older brother Salman Khan was booked for rash driving after he ran his SUV over pavement dwellers, killing one and injuring four others.
