Pakistani actor-singer-composer Ali Zafar, who received the most efficient new talent trophy on the 143rd Dadasaheb Phalke Academy
Awards, says the support of his co-actors has made it easy for him to work in India.
"Katrina Kaif (with whom he worked in 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan') is a superb actress, a fair friend and there are other friends also who supported me and cared for me. This love and support have made it really easy for me to work in India," the 31-year-old said at the awards ceremony Thursday.
Talking in regards to the award, he said: "I ACTUALLY adore this award. It's really a large and prestigious honour for me. I BELIEVE I'M too small for an award like this. So, I NEED to thank the jury for enthusiastic about me for this kind of prestigious award."
"I couldn't have had asked for more. I HAVEN'T GOT words to give an explanation for my happiness and gratitude towards the academy," he added.
Ali debuted in Bollywood with the 2010 superhit film "Tere Bin Laden" and later did films like "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" and "London, Paris, New York"
For him, Bollywood is an international village.
"I think Bollywood is the world's biggest industry. It has a large heart or even the Indian audiences have a large heart. In the event you see the industry, you will see that people from around the world working as a result of its adaptable nature. It's not relevant in case you are from Hollywood or Lollywood, you ought to work here to experience all of it."
Praising the Indian film industry, Ali said that it has grown in leaps and limits and added: "It has undergone many interesting
phases and every and each era had its own magic."
Meanwhile, Ali, who had lost weight for David Dhawan's "Chashme Buddoor" remake, is now gaining weight for the "Vettai" remake.
"'Chashme Buddoor' is my next film. I'M playing a tender college student in it, so I BELIEVED of reducing weight because college students are really thin. I also ensured that there are not any muscles. So I lost numerous weight. And now for my next film, I'M again gaining weight," he said.
Ali also mentioned his cameo in "Tere Bin Laden Part 3".
" 'Tere Bin Laden Part 3" is coming and when Abhishek Sharma narrated the tale to me there has been one character which I BELIEVED I'd enjoy more. This can be a cameo but could be very interesting. I ACTUALLY told him to let me play that part and Abhishek was also desirous about the idea. We're working upon it," he said.
