Anil Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the desi version of the globally feted American series 24 seems to be favourably comparable with the unique.
He has not just signed on three eminent Bollywood writer, recently he flew one of the most original writers of 24, Patrick Harbinson for brainstorming sessions with the writers of the desi 24.
Confirming these developments Rensil d'Silva breaking his silence, said, `Yes, Patrick was here to collaborate with us on 24. It isn't easy to evolve such an internationally-acclaimed thriller into an Indian context.
We needed to re-invent the unique 24, adapt it to an Indian context more suited for Anil Kapoor than Keifer Sutherland who plays the role within the original serial. Each episode has to have its own rhythm and dynamics but every episode should be worked on throughout the larger context.
Because Episode 2 might have a link with Episode 22. It's hard work, very challenging but very satisfying. `
Besides Rensil, there are two other writers on board. Says Rensil, `There are Bhavani Iyer and Priya Pinto also writing at the side of me. And Abhinay Deo is directing the entire episodes. Television is a brand new medium for me. It's taken up an excessive amount of my time. `
Besides 24 for Anil Kapoor on television Rensil has also been busy scripting Karan Johar's Student Of The Year which incidentally stars Varun Dhawan for whose dad David, Rensil scripted the aborted John Abraham starrer Hook Ya Crook.
