"I was preparing for this film for a protracted time, but always wanted an Indian partner that has the similar passion for the film as I do and in Adi (Aditya Chopra), I'VE finally found that," Kapur said in a statement.
"It is a big production that demands futuristic sets and massive action pieces. With YRF, I'VE found a really perfect home for 'Paani'," he added.
In one such future city, a tender love story breaks the entire rules and within the ensuing war, water flows back to its people.
'Paani' is alleged to have a robust Indian and western cast, headed by a tender leading actor from India and a tender leading actress from the west, the statement read. It was reported that Hrithik Roshan will essay the male lead. But no confirmation was made on that front.
The movie, on the way to go on floors mid-2013, may be shot in India and overseas. It is going to have music by the Oscar-winning A. R. Rahman.
