Asin was conspicuous by her absence on the premiere of her recent release. While every cast and unit member was present on the screening held at a suburban multiplex on Thursday, the actress’s no-show raised eyebrows.
According to her spokesperson, Asin didn't attend the event, as she was under the elements. Apparently she was not feeling well and suddenly developed high fever making it impossible for her to step out. Because of this she was forced to skip the event.
But in line with a source it might even have something to do with the promos of Anurag Kashyap’s Ranbir-Priyanka-Ileana starrer that were attached to her film. Says a source, “Anurag had offered Asin a task in his film first, immediately after he completed writing it.
But at the moment she chose Rohit Shetty’s film. Because the shoot schedules were clashing, she could only do probably the most projects. With the promos making a buzz and those wondering why she decided to not do the Ranbir-starrer, Asin just desired to give the scenario a miss.”
The source adds, “She also realised that it was her male co-stars of her recent release that were hogging the limelight, so she was better off not being within the picture.”
