"The film feels different from some other film that I'VE directed as I'VE worked with movie stars who are not looking for hand-holding. With these three newcomers, it was a journey like nurturing and parenting them, " Karan Johar told reporters Thursday on the trailer launch of "Student Of The Year".
Karan has teamed up with Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt, David Dahwan's son Varun and model Siddharth Malhotra for the film.
"I am sure their parents are facing the similar emotions that i'm going through at this time. It is a very special feeling. That is something that I felt I WANTED to do. It is a very satisfying emotion, " said Karan adding "this is his holiday movie".
"After 'My Name Is Khan', I ACTUALLY felt I WANTED to do something where I MYSELF rejoice. I REALLY LIKE dance, song, glamour and of course, keep the sentiments intact."
"I felt I WISHED to be on a vacation even on my creative side. And that's what I exactly did... I made them sing, dance and probably everything that I like."
"Student Of The Year" is slated for an Oct 19 release.
