Divya Bharti shot to fame at an overly young age with films like "Shola Aur Shabnam" and "Deewana". She died at a young age of nineteen in 1993, and the reason for her death remains a mystery.
It has a connect to Sandhu's film, but he denies it.
"I are not looking for to mention whether it is a biopic or not. All I WILL BE ABLE TO say is that it's the story of a tender girl who becomes a celeb at an excessively young age and likewise dies at an excessively young age, " Sandhu told.
"I have never said that the film is a biopic. The media have been saying so. But Divya Bharti have been my all-time favourite actress, " he added.
Currently he's busy casting for his film.
"I am just back in India after auditioning for the leading lady for my film. I'VE BEEN to London, Italy and Greece to get the very best actress for my film, " he said.
Asked if he's on the lookout for a look-alike of Divya Bharti, he said: "Yes, type of. We wish someone who seems like her."
Of the film's shooting schedule, he said: "I CAN finish the shooting in precisely five months. We're planning to shoot all of the film in India, London and Dubai."
