The first Dharma Productions project that came Shahid Kapoor's way was the 2005 movie 'Kaal' , but he couldn't do that.
Seven years later he got another offer to work with the filmmaker, and again he needed to let go the chance as a result of date problems. Now he hopes it doesn't take them another seven future years together. "In fact, that is the very first thing I told Karan.
Long back we were speculated to interact and it was seven years before we got another opportunity... I AM HOPING it doesn't take us another seven years to work again," the 30-year-old actor said here on the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Male Awards.
Shahid was expected to add in director Punit Malhotra's next film to be produced by Karan, however the dates clashed with Maneesh Sharma's movie. "I USED TO BE really keen to do Punit's film and that i was really looking ahead to work with Karan. Unfortunately, the dates are clashing and it won't be possible. But I ACTUALLY hope that I AM GETTING a chance to work with Dharma because I'VE great respect and regard for Karan, who's also a friend," he said.
Talking about Sharma's untitled project, Shahid said: "The film was about to begin but then Maneesh broke his back on account of that the film got delayed for four months. Now the shooting will start in September. I CAN'T say anything greater than this except that i'm very enthusiastic about the film."
His father, Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut "Mausam" was his lone release in 2011. So far as his new films are concerned, he has recently wrapped up Kunal Kohli's tentatively titled "Teri Meri Kahaani", wherein he has teamed up with Priyanka Chopra.
