Predictably, a few production houses from the South have approached the makers of the Vidya Balan-starrer for remake rights. "CERTAINLY ONE OF them is raring to cast Nikita Thukral because the protagonist within the Telugu version.

And they're planning to make it more scintillating than the Milan Luthria directed original, " said a source.

Swati confirmed they had received a few offers for the remake rights. "But nothing was finalised as yet. In fact, we can't just part with the remake rights, but additionally ensure we're involved as co- producers.

That way, we will even have creative control over the general product, with the essence and the soul of the storyline intact, " she said adding that with nothing finalised, the question of Nikita being a part of the remake doesn't arise.

Paris, I REALLY LIKE you!

Paris, I love you!More and more Bollywood filmmakers are choosing to set their stories within the city of eternal romance

She's romantic. She's fashionable. At times, she's even brutal. But nevertheless, she is the very best palette for a filmmaker to attract from. The town of Paris has lured many storytellers to weave tales of heartbreaks, struggles, triumphs and even sheer tattle round her.

And now, Bollywood is falling for her too. 45 years ago when Shammi and Sharmila walked hand in hand during the lanes of Champs Elysees in An Evening in Paris, it probably was an indication.

But it's now that filmmakers are acknowledging the nature this lovely city adds to their idea of entertainment. From the new London Paris New York, to upcoming films like Paradise Street, Love in Paris and Chemistry, each of them tries to define the town of Paris of their own way.

Paris gets personal Many actors who recommend the town of romance as a shoot location share an individual relationship with Paris. Like Ameesha Patel, who decided to set her first home production in Paris.

She says, "For me Paris is the epitome of romance, It is a city where dreams come true. It's majestic, yet not daunting. In our films we take the viewer right into a world they haven't experienced before and what better city than Paris for it."

Adds Kareena Kapoor, "If I had my way I MIGHT shoot all my films in either Paris or London because I LIKE both the cities."

Shooting in Paris Says producer Goldie Behl who believes that it's one of the most toughest cities to shoot in, "Though I'VE seen Paris in films and photographs, I DIDN'T realise it'd be so alien to me after I went there to shoot my film (London Paris New York).

It is by far essentially the most beautiful city I'VE shot in, but Paris has some way of toughening up. The local regulations for film shoots are still old-fashioned and also you wish to work around their rigid ways. But having said that, it's the most creatively friendly space you'll be able to ever dream of."

The art and culture that adorns every little street corner of Paris adds to the vision of the filmmakers like few other cities can. Adds Goldie, "We were shooting on the Montmarte in Paris and it was any such delight to peer all of the musicians and artists there involving themselves in our shoot. It made the sequences look natural and full of life."

Budgets for Paris Those who choose the French capital because the backdrop to their stories, also realise that shooting in Paris comes with a value. The town by far is the costliest places to shoot in.

So much in order that we hear director Sanjay Ghadvi who was to shoot a movie called 7 days in Paris with Imran Khan, shelved it for the reason that budgets were going overboard.

Says director Prem Soni who was shooting Ishq in Paris with Preity Zinta, "For my film, it was always Paris or nothing else. I COULD NOT locate this love story anywhere but this city.

I started writing the script two years ago, from the beginning I'VE visualised the love blossoming here, " says the director who spent his earlier years in Spain.

Did ? Every year, greater than 1,000 film shoots happen in additional than 4,000 outdoor locations in Paris.

Everlasting tango in Paris Amelie (2001): This much-acclaimed French movie was the very best tour guide as Paris played an integral role within the movie. And the way!

Before Sunset (2004): Though its prequel was largely shot in Vienna, the sequel eventually needed to travel to the French capital for the required climax.

Inception (2010): Actress Marion Cotillard wasn't the one thing Parisian on this movie. Some pivotal shots happened within the city itself including the now famous 'Paris folding' scene.

Midnight in Paris (2011): Director Woody Allen's love letter to the town he dearly loves.

Hugo (2011): It marked filmmaker Martin Scorsese's debut in 3D and relies in a Paris railway station.

Dost Ho Toh Aisa: Sallu to do an item number for free for AjaySalman Khan won't only shoot for an item number in Ajay Devgn's film but can even do it for free

In an industry where friendships are fickle, some actors exit in their approach to accommodate their friends and shut ones.

We hear, Salman Khan has not just pledged time to do an item song for Ajay Devgn's forthcoming film, he's going to not even charge a single paisa for it.

A well-placed industry source tells us that it was just recently that Salman was finalised for the song. "AT THE SIDE OF the director Ashwini (Dheer), his associate Kumar Mangat and a pair of others, Ajay was discussing about the picturisation of this peppy track.

And then they considered roping Salman in for it.

Since Ajay is nice friends with Salman, he called and offered it to him. Knowing their friendship, Salman agreed immediately, " explains our informer.

Interestingly, Ajay and Salman weren't as great friends once they acted together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam greater than a decade back.

Our source further states that Salman isn't charging any money for doing the song.

Katrina in awe of Yash Chopra’s sharpness

Katrina in awe of Yash Chopra`s sharpnessActress Katrina Kaif, who's back on the town from London after wrapping up a shooting schedule of Yash Chopra's directorial venture, says she is in awe of the veteran filmmaker's immensely sharp working style.

"You know Yash ji may be very senior and everybody used to mention how young he's at heart. But you must take a look at how sharp he is," Katrina told reporters here.

"He used to select up these very small such things as... if something was disturbing me or I USED TO BE not in an excellent mood, he used to simply pick it up and know the way to cope with it.

So I FEEL he's an excessively special person and we had an important time," she added.

Katrina was in London to work on Chopra's yet-to-be-titled love story opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

This is her first project with King Khan, and that is also the primary time she is being directed by Chopra, whose last venture behind the camera was "Veer Zaara" in 2004.

Katrina, 27, spoke at the sidelines of the launch of a book according to her film "Raajneeti", which presented her in a non-glamourous avatar and in a formidable role.

She didn't miss the danger to share sweet somethings about her "Raajneeti" director Prakash Jha too.

"One thing I WILL say about Prakash ji is that with all his knowledge and with all his intellect, he's an especially intelligent person and very knowledgeable...

"... especially at the subjects that he directs... (they can be) very complex subjects, but never for once does he make you're feeling that you're slightly inferior whatsoever to the information of politics or his knowledge of literature," said Katrina.

Last seen in "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan", Katrina could also be working along with her former beau, actor Salman Khan in "Ek Tha Tiger".

Sonam Kapoor’s Loss Samantha’s Gain

Sonam Kapoor`s Loss Samantha`s GainBy Subhash K Jha

Sonam Kapoor has opted out of Mani Ratnam’s new Tamil film which launches the veteran Tamil actor Karthik’s son Gautham.

Says a source, “At this point in her career going South-wards for Sonam would give the incorrect signal to the filmmakers in Bollywood. Mani had his heart set on Sonam since she suited the young innocent effervescent sophisticated girl’s role to the hilt. He needed to search for a last-minute replacement. ”

Interestingly the role has now gone to the rapidly-upcoming Tamil-Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu who, we have now reason to believe, has bagged another role in Tamil that was earmarked for Sonam.

The Tamil-Hindi director Gautham Menon’s next Hindi film Assi Nabey Poore Sau had an excessively interesting role for the feminine protagonist who needed to go from age 15 to twenty-five.

It was finally felt that Sonam could be unable to seem 15, regardless of how hard she tried.

Samantha who was introduced into cinema by Menon in his Tamil film Vinaaithandi Vaaruvaaya was also speculated to make her Hindi debut within the film’s remake Ek Deewana Tha.

He now intends to launch ‘Sam’ (as she is well known within the Tamil film industry) in Hindi cinema common.

Says a source, “Gautham wanted Samantha for the Hindi version of Vinaaithandi Vaaruvaaya. Having failed in that endeavour, he's now within the technique of completing Assi Nabey Poore Sau as a Hindi launch vehicle for her. ”

The film pairs Samantha with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali discovery Aditya Roy Kapoor who has disappeared after Guzaarish and Vipul Shah’s Action Replay and have been that specialize in getting the look and function as a 15-going-on-25 lover-boy right.

Kapoor has gotten rid of his trademark curly mop of hair and now sports a more sober look.

Says Menon, “Both Sam and Aditya need to have to move through 3 age-transitions from 15 to twenty to twenty-five. Their love story starts when they’re 6. Obviously Sam and Aditya couldn’t play the 6-year old pair. However the three other stages within the characters’ lives has been pulled off effortlessly by the lead air. ”

Apparently while playing age-15 Samantha and Aditya Roy Kapoor behaved their characters’ age even while not shooting.

The transformation, in step with the director, is startling

Come April when Assi Nabey Poore Sau releases Samantha Ruth Prabhu, we hear, may be launched because the next Sridevi in Hindi cinema.

In this she has not just the director Gautham Menon’s support, but in addition the whole endorsement of her co-star.

Samantha and Siddharth (UTV) Roy Kapoor and Kunal (Delhi Belly) Roy Kapoor’s kid-brother have been spending numerous time clear of Mumbai just about Samantha in shooting.

But that’s another story.
