My husband liked my hot Desi look in item number: Chitrangada

My husband liked my hot Desi look in item number: Chitrangada
Chitrangada Singh, a formidable performer, is lured by item song - she's going tThe most productiven jiving to "Kafirana" in forthcoming film "Joker". The best thing is that her ethnic look within the song was appreciated by her husband, golfer Jyoti Randhawa.

"He really liked it. He said I ACTUALLY look good in that whole ethnic, rustic look," she said, adding that she doesn't "really discuss my career with him".

After having done off-beat films like "Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi", "Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow", "Yeh Saali Zindagi" and entire on commercial drama "Desi Boyz", it was a risky job for the actress to endorse an item number, but she says it was worth it.

"One thing I NEED to explain is that I neither wish to change my image nor I'M seeking to slot in anything...I was looking to do something out of the box. It is a chance that you simply take, it is a risk. Sometimes you fall flat for your face. Sometimes you do not. But I FEEL it's worth taking the danger. I had fun doing it," she said.

Directed by Shirish Kunder, "Joker" features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha and is popping out Aug 31.

Original version of "Kafirana" became controversial due to the words - "I WOULD LIKE 'fakht' you" (fakht means 'just you' in Marathi), but later it was changed to circumvent controversy, says Chitrangada.

"When we shot, the garments that I USED TO BE wearing were also very Marathi. Within the song some lines were in Marathi, there has been 'fakht' in it," the 36-year-old explained.

She feels that adult content in songs isn't a brand new thing and added:" 'DK Bose' came up. Not that we do not hearken to these songs... there were lot of Marathi lines in it, it has Marathi background. I USED TO BE told the meaning of the word, so I BELIEVED that's fine. Had it been a Punjabi song, you could not remove anything because that is the quality of that language."

When asked if she is open to do more item numbers, she said: "I DO NOT mind some song and fun, but there'll always be a mixture. I really think song and dance are crucial. Hindi films always had it and we Indians enjoy that. So if there may be one song that's extra special, shot rather well and if the woman is hot, it becomes an additional bit within the film."

Gangs Of Wasseypur 2: Is `Definite` a spoof on Salman?
Has Anurag Kashyap's past relationship with Salman Khan coloured his spoof at the actor in 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' sequel?

Cinema, they say, often mirrors reality. No wonder buzz is that given his rather acrimonious relationship with Salman Khan, Anurag Kashyap has taken a dig on the actor within the second a part of his gangster film.

While the primary a part of the film saw Manoj Bajpai and Tigmanshu Dhulia's characters locking horns with each other, the second one part will see their respective sons carry forward the bitterness. Apparently, the nature Definite, who's portrayed as Bajpai's son, is a spoof of Sallu. Definite is played by Zeeshan Quadri.

Our source points out, `Definite may be seen in Salman's Tere Naam hairstyle. He even mouths dialogues from the actor's debut film Maine Pyaar Kiya and there are extensive references to him within the film. The body language of the nature may be very similar to Salman's.`

The source adds, `Anurag had blasted Salman and his brother Arbaaz on a social networking site after his brother Abhinav walked out in their upcoming sequel. This proves that each one isn't well between Anurag and Salman and this is able to be his way of having back at Sallu.`

Shenaz used to anchor music show "MTV'S Most Wanted" for lots of years, before she made a move to Bollywood with Ken Ghosh's 2003 movie "Ishq Vishk". After that she featured in films like "Radio" and "Delhi Belly".

The 31-year-old will now be seen in romantic comedy "Main Aur Mr. Right", by which she plays the role of a perfectionist in search of her 'Mr. Right'.

Shenaz feels every girl can be in a position to relate to the story.

"Most girls, regardless of how practical, independent, mature or modern they claim to be, cannot let go of the teenage girl inside them... the lady who's grown up on Shah Rukh Khan or Tom Hanks's films.

"Somewhere inside us, we're all dreaming of a person to brush us off our feet and ride us away into the sunset on a large black horse. So I FEEL women of every age can relate to the movies," she added.

Asked if she is equally choosy in her real life as well, she said: "Not up to my character. She takes picky to a different level. I BELIEVE that no man goes to be perfect and check the entire boxes so I HAVE TO pick my top five and go together with a person who fulfills those."

Directed by Adeeb Rais, "Main Aur Mr. Right" also marks the debut of TV actor Barun Sobti. The film's release date isn't yet finalised.

Pooja Bhatt wants `Jism 2` to be her `Arth`

Pooja Bhatt wants `Jism 2` to be her `Arth`
Pooja Bhatt wants "Jism 2" to be a game changer for her, just because the 1982 "Arth" was for her father Mahesh Bhatt.

"I hope 'Jism 2' might be my 'Arth', " Pooja, 40, told.

Pooja has directed four films -- "Paap", "Holiday", "Dhokha" and "Kajraare" -- none of which worked any magic on the box office. With the erotic thriller "Jism 2", she is hoping for success, fame and acclaim.

"It's a coincidence that even I'M on the same stage (as my father). Even he had made around four movies (before 'Arth') and none of them did well. He was at some extent in his career where nothing was moving, " she said.

Pooja also finds a typical thread between "Arth" and "Jism 2".

"Somewhere what is the specialty of 'Arth' is that a lady makes a decision to not be along with her husband and neither together with her lover. In 'Jism 2', Isna, who's a porn star, makes a conscious choice for her life too.

"We are talking about choices and that is the similarity between the 2. 'Jism 2' is contemporary, it is a world view film. It is a game changer in additional ways than one, " said Pooja, who has roped in Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone to play the lead within the film.

"Jism 2" is an erotic thriller and has received an 'A' rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

While many filmmakers reshoot bold scenes in a subtle method to telecast it at the small screen, Pooja says she did not want to get into that zone. She says it is not possible to tone down an adult film and so she'd rather show her movie post the 11 p.m. slot on TV.

"I have made an adult film; you cannot really sell alcohol on a children's channel! So if one is creating a film with the adult title, how am i able to water down and release it in prime time within the afternoon?" she asked.

"I am very clear I WOULD LIKE the 11 p.m. slot or I'M open with the house video market. I NEED TO have a look at new how you can have a look at the marketplace for my product, " added the director, who played smart by releasing promotional videos of only those songs on TV that had no sexual content.

The rest were marketed online, "a greater than worthy competitor of TV", in line with the director.

"Jism 2", releasing Aug 3, also features Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh alongside Sunny.

Aradhana becomes Top Gun

Aradhana turns into Top Gun
Director Ashim Samanta plans to show the unique story of an airforce pilot and his lookalike illegitimate son right into a modern-day Top Gun

The remake of 1 of Rajesh Khanna's biggest hits Aradhana will take a little bit longer than expected, as producer-director Ashim Samanta intends to show the unique story of an airforce pilot and his lookalike illegitimate son right into a modern-day Top Gun.

Explains Samanta, `When my father made Aradhana, he couldn't shoot at an air base and the scenes needed to be fudged. Those were times when permission to access defence-related locations was impossible for filmmakers. Now, we can shoot at air force bases. It was something my father couldn't do and it remained a lingering regret.`

Samanta desires to turn Aradhana into Top Gun. `I want the sequences showing the hero emerge from the fighter planes to have the same impact as Tom Cruise's scenes in Top Gun. We're practising creating the similar level of adrenaline and authenticity in the air-base sequences.`

Samanta's son Aditya will play the double role that had made Rajesh Khanna a household name after the unique Aradhana. But who will play the role of the heroine, the young girl with a son born out of wedlock who transforms into an old mother?

`My father had a difficult time casting for the role. Aparna Sen was almost finalised, but she opted out on the last minute. Finally Sharmila Tagore, who was in her 20s, played the 60 year-old woman. I HOPE an equally enterprising actress could be found for the new Aradhana.`

If no actress is located to be suitable for both the old and young avatar of the unwed mother, then two actresses could also be signed for the same role. However the hero's double role remains unchanged.

The original songs from Aradhana - Roop tera mastana, Mere Sapnon ki rani kab aayegi tu, Baaghon mein bahaar hai and Gunguna rahe hai bhanwar - will all be retained within the new Aradhana.

Says Asim, `We're keeping the songs, but we're recording them as per new technology. Why would I tamper with such classic songs?`
