The cast and crew of 'Jannat 2' were allowed to shoot on the historic monument without paying money after local authorities botched up the former day's schedule.
To gain permission to shoot at or across the heritage structures of India may well be quite a Herculean task. However, the local Delhi authorities welcomed the solid and crew of Kunal Deshmukh's Jannat 2 with open arms, for a song sequence to be shot on the Qutub Minar.
The crew was in truth allowed to occupy the gap without cost. But this only after the crew needed to cancel a whole day's shoot as a result of a miscommunication at the a part of the local authorities.
Says director Kunal Deshmukh, "We were shooting a love song with Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta on the Qutab Minar area. What we didn't know that on a Friday, school children are allowed within the area, without cost for a faculty trip.
And that day there have been two to a few school field trips. To make matters worse most of them were girls. They saw Emraan and the crowds went out of control."
The authorities then realised that it was actually their responsibility to have had informed the film crew in regards to the school students. Though the police personnel present on the location tried to control the crowds, it was apparently impossible to continue shooting.
Adds Deshmukh, "THE CHILDREN didn't create any ruckus, but just desired to watch the shoot. Emraan spoke to them and requested them to move, but they refused to budge." As a result, they'd little choice but to cancel the times shoot.
Adds a source, "The authorities realised that it might be an enormous loss for them in the event that they needed to undergo the entire process again and hence allow them to shoot the song day after today with none fee."
