My way or the highway, feels Kangna

My way or the highway, feels Kangna
Kangna Ranaut apparently planned to stroll out of an upcoming gangster film if her demand for a hefty fee was not met

To do or to not do, that's the question - at least, for Kangna Ranaut. The actress will have agreed to be seen as a gun-toting outlaw in writer-director Sai Kabir's upcoming film but at a hefty price. And now speculations are rife that she won't need to do the role at all.

The actress apparently demanded a fat fee for the film in an effort to showcase her in a drastic image makeover. Kangs who has essayed the bold, dark, chic and comic roles features in a never-seen before avatar on this revenge drama that revolves around a feminine fugitive.

Says a source, `After Kangna gave her green signal to the film, she had second thoughts concerning the remuneration. There was speculation that she won't do the film after she asked for an immense fee hike. Kangs demanded a handful of crores or even considered opting out if her demand was not met.`

The film is to be shot in Madhya Pradesh and has Kangs in a raw rustic look.

As reported Guns 'n' Roses (Hitlist, November 8) though there were buzz about Tabu being considered for the role, it was Kangs who was eventually finalised. The film is co-produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Rahul Mittra who're currently shooting for a movie with Saif Ali Khan and earlier made Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster together.

A source as regards to the project however maintains, `Kangna is on for the project. She's going to be attending a music hearing session shortly.`

Incidentally the film's writer-director Sai Kabir, who penned the dialogues for Lamhaa and the screenplay for Kismet Konnection, has his debut project Chemistry with Shreyas Talpade, Tanishaa and Soha Ali Khan lying stuck.
