Her latest film could have tanked on the box office, but Karisma Kapoor maintains she desired to do something that her daughter could watch
Karisma Kapoor’s latest release won't have created an impact on the box office. The actress, however, stands by her decision to have signed the film. Her daughter, Samaira, who's now of a film-viewing age has been some of the reasons Lolo desired to do this sort of film.
The actress says, “My daughter (seven-year-old Samaira) can now fully understand what her mummy does while my son (two-year-old Kiaan Raj) remains to be young. I NEEDED to do a movie that they may also see. The film had elements of fantasy, costume drama and supernatural aspects. It's something that would attract them.”
Besides, the 3D was a large factor. “This was also something new to me. I had never done a movie that required such technology. I USED TO BE willing to experiment and opt for something unique, ” she points out.
However, because she agreed to do a movie after this kind of big gap and an equally long period of deliberation, was Vikram Bhatt the most efficient she could get a hold of? “Why not?” shoots back Karisma.
“I know that folks are wondering why I chose his film; but for me, this was it. I'VE done several films and essayed various kinds of characters most of these years.
But this film spans several centuries and my character goes from today to hundreds of years into history. I'LL portray several personas in a single film, ” she adds.
Incidentally, because of the 3D effect, Karisma’s members of the family couldn't see the film at an individual viewing studio. “The technology didn't give the chance to peer the film at any private theatre. I USED TO BE keen that they see me in the theatre with the full-on 3D effects.”
