Pay tribute to 1960s movie legends

Shahid Kapoor, who plays a struggling musician of the 1960s in his forthcoming film "Teri Meri Kahaani," says that portion is inspired by the superstars of that era - Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar - and is a tribute to the legendary actors.

"The film talks about three eras - 1910, 1960 and 2012. The era that you're talking about, the 1960s, Dev saab, Mr. Raj Kapoor, Dilip saab, they were the most important stars. I'M playing a personality of that time, a struggling musician. So, whatever we now have done is inspired by them," the 31-year-old said here Monday at the sets of "Dance India Dance".

"Kunal (director Kunal Kohli) desired to pay a little bit tribute to them. So, just a little is encouraged from them. I DO NOT BELIEVE anybody can do what they've really done," added Shahid, who stars opposite Priyanka Chopra within the film.

When asked why the 2 actors took see you later to return together for one more film after delivering the 2009 hit film "Kaminey", Priyanka said: "I DO NOT BELIEVE Shahid produces films nor do I produce films. Whenever a movie is obtainable to us together, we can do one and we're glad to be doing 'Teri Meri Kahaani' because it is a very special film and we're more than happy to have come together for that."

"Teri Meri Kahaani" also stars Prachi Desai and the film is slated for a June 22 release.
