Department was passed with an ‘A’ certificate. There have been no major cuts. With the exception of a tremendous song in regards to the police department which the censorboard asked to be deleted.
The song concerning the workings of the police department goes, “Laal batti aati hai, sab ki phat jaati hai, Mumbai police hai sab ka bhai. ”
According to Mr J. P. Singh the Regional Officer, CBFC Mumbai, the song needed to go as it was defamatory to the Mumbai police force.
However director Ram Gopal Varma disagrees. “We needed to remove the song since the censor board felt it was derogatory to the police. I disagree. ”
However with the song being passed for an adult viewership, the film is prepared for release this Friday.
