For her latest Tamil film, where she plays a chain smoker, she needed to smoke almost 50 cigarettes per day so as to get into the surface of her character. And that too, when she is an absolute non-smoker.
Neetu says, “I can’t stand smoking but I loved the role such a lot that I needed to comply with smoke. In fact, I MIGHT finally end up smoking nearly 50 to 70 cigarettes an afternoon. I did that for just about 20 days, which was greatly throughout the shooting.
I prepared myself for the role by keeping a cigarette in my hand before we began shooting. I MIGHT try alternative ways to mess around with it. Eventually, I STARTED looking cooler than my friends who're regular smokers.”
