Being an artist was in my destiny: Isha Sharvani

Being an artist was in my destiny: Isha Sharvani
I feel that God's been kind enough with me to permit me to rise up every morning and do what I LIKE doing, " says Isha

Currently seen within the reality show Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa on Colors, Isha talks to CS about dance.

My favourite dance form… Well, in case you take a kid to a candy store and ask him to select a favorite chocolate, he'll be totally confused. It’s the similar with me. I REALLY LIKE dancing and feature grown up in my parents’ dance institution in Kerala. It’s tough for me to select a selected form.

Greatest stage memory… Two weeks back, I did a show in London, where I performed with my brother. We did a duet and there have been six dancers with us. My father directed the show. It was a memorable occasion as we were together as a family.

First TV stint… I am more than happy with this show as it’s giving me a chance to succeed in out to many viewers across India and the arena. Till now, I'VE only performed in metro cities and Tier-2 cities like Pune, Indore, etc. I AM HOPING that even people within the rural towns know me after this.

Taking it easy… I would really like to do a musical film with a large number of dances. After I look back at my career, I must be happy with whatever I'VE done. I LOVE to do something at a time. Whatever I do, I LOVE to present it my best.

I like to watch… I like several types of dance. As an art, dancing is reflective of the days. Kathak belongs to the Mughal era when ladies did many of the talking through their eyes, while Salsa/Tango come from a society where women are expressive about their sexuality. Enjoy it all, I say.

Favourite dancers… I love Mallika Sarabhai’s Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam. Birju Maharaj could also be another legend I GLANCE upto. In Kathak, I'LL BE partial, it’s my mom Daksha Seth.
