How will you compare `Gangs of Wasseypur` with a movie like `3 Idiots`

How can you compare `Gangs of Wasseypur` with a film like `3 Idiots`
"Gangs of Wasseypur", in keeping with real-life story, has collected Rs.10 crore within the opening weekend. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is satisfied and says the crime thriller is his first film to earn such a lot on the box office.

"We thought that individuals were liking the film, but within the first three days, we didn't collect such a lot. But even that collection was the largest of my life. The type of film that is and the type of actors there are, the collection was big," Kashyap said on the success party of the film Thursday.

Recently many mainstream commercial ventures like "Singham" and "Rowdy Rathore" crossed the Rs.100 crore mark.

But Kashyap, known for giving hits like "Dev D" and "Udaan", said: "Rs.100 crore is just too much of an expectation. If it happens, it's good. I WOULD LIKE that whoever has worked within the film should earn a large number of money."

The gang war drama based in Wasseypur in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, has non-commercial names within the cast similar to Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Piyush Mishra and newcomer Richa Chadha. Despite that it's luring people.

"It is a movie where barring Manoj, people have no idea anyone. In addition, the film had everything going against it - the 2 parts, one part being an incomplete story, the type of language and adult certificate. People see the negative points more. So, even though we do not cross Rs.100 crore, it's fine with us," he said.

He also feels that comparing "Gangs of Wasseypur" with commercial blockbusters like "3 Idiots" is unjustified.

"...This comparison is arbitrary. For those who compare my film with '3 Idiots', then I should compare that with 'Avengers'. See the image in step with its budget," he said.

What makes Kashyap happy that the industry has finally accepted his roughly films.

"I have gotten acceptance after a very long time and i'm happy. I always desired to get accepted for the flicks I make. NUMEROUS directors, who I BELIEVE very high off, have called me (to congratulate). Bachchan saab also (Amitabh Bachchan) tweeted (praising the film). It made such a lot of a difference," he said.

"A lot of items have happened with the film. I also got the liberty to make a movie which I THINK in," said Kashyap adding that he did with none "market pressure".

"This is the one way this sort of cinema will go ahead and we'd be capable of do new things," he said.
