We learnt that Salman Khan’s next film with Sooraj Barjatya is ready to move at the floors early next year. Following the banner’s tried and tested formula, the film is tentatively titled Bade Bhaiyya, where Sallu plays the titular role. And consistent with the tradition, his character may be called Prem.
Big brother Although the remainder of the solid is yet to be finalised, our source reveals that the film will feature a lot of familiar faces from the banner’s previous films.
“Salman will play the nature of the elder brother, that was traditionally done by Mohnish Behl within the films by the banner,” says our source.
Casting for the film will start in a month. “By then, he’ll (Sooraj) have also finalised the music team and can commence the sittings. There are no less than half-a-dozen tracks within the film. The melody would be the highlight of the soundtrack,” sums up our source.
Past tense The last time Salman did a full-fledged film with the Barjatyas was Hum Saath Saath Hai in 1999. Reportedly, the family was upset with the black buck hunting case in the course of the shooting in Jodhpur and consequently, stopped working with him. Sallu returned to the Barjatya banner in 2010 with a cameo in Isi Life Mein.
Sallu gets ad-venturous Here’s another update on Bhaijaan. We’ve heard that our Bhai was his usual self when he was offered an endorsement for a Hawai chappal brand.
Apparently, when the script for the ad film first came to him, he sent it back saying he wanted it to be more exciting. Then he sent back even the reworked script.
After some further back and forth, Bhai claimed he would write the script himself. Out came a script complete with the standard Sallu antics.
Gliding on water, walking on buildings and what not before Bhai mouths his dialogues in regards to the footwear. Last thing we all know the ad makers had reconciled themselves to this innovative ad film. Admittedly, so long as it’s Sallu, anything will sell.
