'Rowdy Rathore' earns Rs. 29.8 crore, Akki thanks fans
"Rowdy Rathore" is Akshay's widest release thus far on 2,800 screens within the country, said a press release. Made on the cheap of Rs. 45 crore, the film released Friday and grossed Rs. 15.10 crore at the opening day.
Directed by Prabhu Deva and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the film marked Akshay's return to a full-fledged action role after seven years.
Apart from entertaining audiences with raw action, Akshay is seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha within the film.

"I owe an enormous thanks to my audience! You're the only reason for the largest opening weekend of my career! Love Rowdy," Akshay tweeted.
